Witness you are absolutely correct. The so called revolution of 7 Noverber 1975, Zia doesn't have any contribution to organise and 100% credit or discredit for Cornel Taher. Then where is that acknowledgement from BNP. BNP believes in m.asic or mira.cle without any preparation of back suddenly Zia declares independence then liberation war start without this no liberation war. So all his credit. To organise 7 November revolt Zia doesn't have any contribution but all credit for him. Just see their brain frequency in which way according to them Zia is announcer of Independence in the same way he is the credit holder to organise 7 November revolt. Which way the deny Bangabandhu's credit in the same way the deny Cornel Taher credit or discredit. Zia in the lock up then how he organises 7/11/1975 revolt. They are proud for 7 November but never acknowledge the name of hero. This is the biggest ungrateful incident in the history of mankind. Mostaq is involved to kill Bangabandhu this is the very bad example of betray but Zia's betray against Cornel Taher is thousand times perverted act than that. Bibek: Col. Tahir said in his last testament before the cangaro trial that was set by Zia n Dhaka central jail that he saw a lot of nasty people in his life but did not see any one like Zia whom he put in power made him (Tahir) a trator. Col. Tahir lost a let for the country and did we do? Similarly, I like to say that I have seen many nasty people, too but did not see any one like you who could fabricate things so negatively? Remember, Allah punished Zia by his fellow army colleagues which was worst than Col. Tahir. Col. Tahir embraced the death with smiling face. But Lt. Col. Delwar emptied one full magazine of 28 bullets on Zia's face and he was burried in a mass grave in Rangunia. You should do a DNA test to see that the real Zia is in the grave in Sher-E-Bangla Nagar where you guys lay floral wreaths. Remember, Allah knows all.
Dear Readers: If a single word that I wrote below is incorect and untrue than may Allah punish me. I am an eye witness of 7th November and we rescued Zia on Tahir's order but Zia hanged Col. Tahir, one of our greatest freedom fighters, who lost one of his leg in the famous Kamalpur war in 1971 for his motherland. Zia made him die as a traitor of Bangladesh.
7th November â A Black Day in our History.
If any of the young persons of our current generation asked who killed Col. Tahir? The answer will be Gen. Zia. Col. Tahir who saved Ziaâs life was hanged by Zia to pave his way. No sensible person can make arguments in favor of the killers of 15th August and 7th November. These killings did not bring any tangible benefits for the masses rather made a handful of people exercise unlimited powers and ac**ulated unlimited resources through state sponsored corruption. 15th August is a black day for the nation while 7th November changed the lot of Gen. Zia by again killing his saviour, great Freedom Fighter Col. Mohammed Abu Tahir. I was one of close observers of 7th November when Col. Tahir was advised to take over power but he did not, instead, he put Zia back to power after rescuing him from Second Bengal HQ. in Dhaka Cantonment. Zia embraced Col. Tahir and told him that his (Col. Tahir's) name would be written in golden words in the history of Bangladesh. We did not believe in Zia but Col. Tahir told us that Zia was his batch mat in Kakul Military academy and he knew Zia better than us so we should not differ with him. We then kept quite and Col. Tahir brought a piece of paper from his pocket handing over it to Zia saying to implement it. Someone took a holy Quraan on which Zia touched and swears that he would follow those demands of Col. Tahir. We did not believe him and could have vanished Zia at the very moment but we did not do it. Then what happened? Zia broke all his promises that he made on the morning on 7th November in Second Bengal HQ. Zia's Gestapo took Col. Tahir from a meeting in Mohsin Hall, Dhaka University. We knew it was his final departure. After a few months we saw an anti state case filed namely 'State Versus Major Jalil' in which Col. Tahir was one of the main accused to overthrow the Government. Col. Zia planned it to hang Col. Tahir who was his saviour in the morning of 7th November. What a prize for a saviour! Can any one believe or think it? There have been a lot of talks on this issue since Col. Tahir was hanged but because of JSD's wrong politics this hero (Co. Tahir) of ours gave his life and Zia got the fruit by removing the thorn to pave his way. Many of us who are still alive have witnessed those days of Col. Tahir who being an Army Officer dreamed for a classless society. We are unfortunate that our younger generations are so badly misguided that they term 7th November as a revolution day. Revolution means change. So can you tell what change it brought in the life of those masses for whom Col. Tahir gave his life? Bangladesh has over 63% people who are ultra poor and still live below poverty level. Some people got benefit of 7th November and one of those is certainly Zia's family that became millionaires out of a broken suitcase and torn vest. What a fool we Bengalis are?
On the other hand, I still remember the new 'Mir Jafar' of Bangladesh Khandker Mushtaq called the killers of Bangabandhu as 'Surjya Santan' and declared 15th August a day of 'Najat'. Were are that 'Mir Jafar' and his 'Surya Santans' now? Mushtaque died alone with no dearest and nearest ones by his side while some of the so called 'Surjya Santans' are behind the bar counting their days and the rests are running from one country to another as fugitives. This is called natural justice, which we call 'Dharmer Kal Batashe Nare Age Na Hole Pore Nore', a famous Bengali and popular proverb.
My appeal to our younger generations, please do read more books, journals, etc., about your roots, you will get to know the truth one day. You have to reveal the facts by yourselves and do not pass this responsibility on to the others or else you will make no justice to yourselves and to your nation. No plans can live without any roots. So let's try to search our own roots.

Pakistani Atrocities in Bangladesh:

During the war there were widespread killings and other atrocities â including the displacement of civilians in Bangladesh (East Pakistan at the time) and widespread violations of human rights â carried out by the Pakistan Army with support from political and religious militias began with the start of Operation Searchlight on 25 March 1971.
Bangladeshi authorities claim that three million people were killed,[6] while the Hamoodur Rahman Commission, an official Pakistan Government investigation, put the figure as low as 26,000 civilian casualties.[53] The international media and reference books in English have also published figures which vary greatly from 200,000 to 3,000,000 for Bangladesh as a whole.[6] A further eight to ten million people fled the country to seek safety in India.[54]

A large section of the intellectual community of Bangladesh were murdered, mostly by the Al-Shams and Al-Badr forces,[55] at the instruction of the Pakistani Army.[56] Just 2 days before the surrender, on 14 December 1971, Pakistan Army and Razakar militia (local collaborators) picked up at least 100 to 300 physicians, professors, writers and engineers in Dhaka, and executed them, leaving the dead bodies in a mass grave.[57]. There are many mass graves in Bangladesh, and more are continually being discovered (such as one in an old well near a mosque in Dhaka, located in the non-Bengali region of the city, which was discovered in August 1999).[58] The first night of war on Bengalis, which is do**ented in telegrams from the American Consulate in Dhaka to the United States State Department, saw indiscriminate killings of students of Dhaka University and other civilians.[59]
Numerous women were tortured, raped and killed during the war; the exact numbers are not known and are a subject of debate. Bangladeshi sources cite a figure of 200,000 women raped, giving birth to thousands of war babies. The Pakistan Army also kept numerous Bengali women as sex-slaves inside the Dhaka Cantonment. Most of the girls were captured from Dhaka University and private homes.[60]
There was significant sectarian violence not only perpetrated and encouraged by the Pakistani army,[61] but also by Bengali nationalists against non-Bengali minorities, especially Biharis.[62]
On 16 December 2002, the George Washington University's National Security Archive published a collection of declassified do**ents, consisting mostly of communications between US embassy officials and United States Information Service centers in Dhaka and India, and officials in Washington DC.[63] These do**ents show that US officials working in diplomatic institutions within Bangladesh used the terms selective genocide[64] and genocide (see The Blood Telegram) to describe events they had knowledge of at the time. Genocide is the term that is still used to describe the event in almost every major publication and newspaper in Bangladesh.[65][66], although elsewhere, particularly in Pakistan, the actual death toll, motives, extent, and destructive impact of the actions of the Pakistani forces are disputed.

Operation Searchlight
Main article: Operation Searchlight
A planned military pacification carried out by the Pakistan Army â codenamed Operation Searchlight â started on 25 March to curb the Bengali nationalist movement[30] by taking control of the major cities on 26 March, and then eliminating all opposition, political or military,[31] within one month. Before the beginning of the operation, all foreign journalists were systematically deported from East Pakistan.[32]
The main phase of Operation Searchlight ended with the fall of the last major town in Bengali hands in mid-May. The operation also began the 1971 Bangladesh atrocities. These systematic killings served only to enrage the Bengalis, which ultimately resulted in the secession of East Pakistan later in the same year. The international media and reference books in English have published casualty figures which vary greatly, from 5,000â35,000 in Dhaka, and 200,000â3,000,000 for Bangladesh as a whole.[6][33]
According to the Asia Times,[34]
At a meeting of the military top brass, Yahya Khan declared: "Kill 3 million of them and the rest will eat out of our hands." Accordingly, on the night of 25 March, the Pakistani Army launched Operation Searchlight to "crush" Bengali resistance in which Bengali members of military services were disarmed and killed, students and the intelligentsia systematically liquidated and able-bodied Bengali males just picked up and gunned down.
Although the violence focused on the provincial capital, Dhaka, it also affected all parts of East Pakistan. Residential halls of the University of Dhaka were particularly targeted. The only Hindu residential hall â the Jagannath Hall â was destroyed by the Pakistani armed forces, and an estimated 600 to 700 of its residents were murdered. The Pakistani army denies any cold blooded killings at the university, though the Hamood-ur-Rehman commission in Pakistan concluded that overwhelming force was used at the university. This fact and the massacre at Jagannath Hall and nearby student dormitories of Dhaka University are corroborated by a videotape secretly filmed by Prof. Nurul Ullah of the East Pakistan Engineering University, whose residence was directly opposite the student dormitories. [35]
Hindu areas suffered particularly heavy blows. By midnight, Dhaka was literally burning,[citation needed] especially the Hindu dominated eastern part of the city. Time magazine reported on 2 August 1971, "The Hindus, who account for three-fourths of the refugees and a majority of the dead, have borne the brunt of the Pakistani military hatred."
Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was arrested by the Pakistani Army. Yahya Khan appointed Brigadier (later General) Rahimuddin Khan to preside over a special tribunal prosecuting Mujib with multiple charges. The tribunal's sentence was never made public, but Yahya caused the verdict to be held in abeyance in any case.[citation needed] Other Awami League leaders were arrested as well, while a few fled Dhaka to avoid arrest. The Awami League was banned by General Yahya Khan.
Declaration of independence
The violence unleashed by the Pakistani forces on 25 March 1971, proved the last straw to the efforts to negotiate a settlement. Following these outrages, Sheikh Mujibur Rahman signed an official declaration that read:
Today Bangladesh is a sovereign and independent country. On Thursday night, West Pakistani armed forces suddenly attacked the police barracks at Razarbagh and the EPR headquarters at Pilkhana in Dhaka. Many innocent and unarmed have been killed in Dhaka city and other places of Bangladesh. Violent clashes between E.P.R. and Police on the one hand and the armed forces of Pakistan on the other, are going on. The Bengalis are fighting the enemy with great courage for an independent Bangladesh. May Allah aid us in our fight for freedom. Joy[36] Bangla.[37]
Sheikh Mujib also called upon the people to resist the occupation forces through a radio message.[38] Mujib was arrested on the night of 25â26 March 1971 at about 1:30 a.m. (as per Radio Pakistanâs news on 29 March 1971).
A telegram containing the text of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman's declaration reached some students in Chittagong. The message was translated to Bangla by Dr. Manjula Anwar. The students failed to secure permission from higher authorities to broadcast the message from the nearby Agrabad Station of Radio Pakistan. They crossed Kalurghat Bridge into an area controlled by an East Bengal Regiment under Major Ziaur Rahman. Bengali soldiers guarded the station as engineers prepared for transmission. At 19:45 hrs on 27 March 1971, Major Ziaur Rahman broadcast announcement of the declaration of independence on behalf of Sheikh Mujibur. On 28 March Major Ziaur Rahman made another announcement,which is as follows:
This is Shadhin Bangla Betar Kendro. I, Major Ziaur Rahman, at the direction of Bangobondhu sheikh Mujibur Rahman, hereby declare that the independent People's Republic of Bangladesh has been established. At his direction, I have taken command as the temporary Head of the Republic. In the name of Sheikh Mujibur Rahman, I call upon all Bengalis to rise against the attack by the West Pakistani Army. The Kalurghat Radio Station's transmission capability was limited. The message was picked up by a Japanese ship in Bay of Bengal. It was then re-transmitted by Radio Australia and later by the British Broadcasting Corporation.
M A Hannan, an Awami League leader from Chittagong, is said to have made the first announcement of the declaration of independence over the radio on 26 March 1971[39]. There is controversy now as to when Major Zia gave his speech. BNP sources maintain that it was 26 March, and there was no message regarding declaration of independence from Mujibur Rahman. Pakistani sources, like Siddiq Salik in Witness to Surrender had written that he heard about Mujibor Rahman's message on the Radio while Operation Searchlight was going on, and Maj. Gen. Hakeem A. Qureshi in his book The 1971 Indo-Pak War: A Soldier's Narrative, gives the date of Zia's speech as 27 March 1971[40].
26 March 1971 is considered the official Independence Day of Bangladesh, and the name Bangladesh was in effect henceforth. In July 1971, Indian Prime Minister Indira Gandhi openly referred to the former East Pakistan as Bangladesh.[41] Some Pakistani and Indian officials continued to use the name "East Pakistan" until 16 December 1971.

The report is true but motivated.There are concealments (intentional) of facts.Its not new that Indian artists are invited to perform here,nor new that almost all Indian sat channels are dominating in our cable TV business,also not new that Indian chanachurs or potato chips/candy,even tomato ketch-ups are available in every pan/biri shops of our streets/villages.This has started after our former Finance Minister Mr.Saifur Rahman signed SAFTA and for BNP Govt.'s adoption of open sky policy for sat TV in 1991-6 term.Instead,they failed to get permission for our cable operators to launch progms.in India.Some commentators,through their inherent ignorance or habitual AL hatred making stupid and goat like comments (as usually done evry day by BNP Secy.General) as if all these started during last 10 months of AL rule.Point to ponder,Matiur Rahman Nizamee,Jamaat Amir was asked in his recent press conference on education policy whether Jamat as a partner of the last Jote Govt. demanded that Islamic education policy should be adopted.He replied that they didn't get time (2001-2006 i,e, in 1865 days in power) to do that.Now,since AL is in power,they raised this demand.All national dailies in Bangladesh covered this press conference following day except Dainik Amardesh.This way,the present management of this daily is transforming this to a Party poster day by day.

It is our humble request to them please goes through national & international peoples & Medias reaction after Mojib massacred in 1975. If they might have little sense, hope they will correct their foolishness. On the other hand if they are like Khamba Marka A.H from Kuwait will remain as General Shafiullah marka Kapurush (Timid fellow.) for good. Sin of Zia transmit not only in his family but also in his party, leaders, supporters as well. Even see late Saifur Rahman who never pay tax and makes black money white as well as alot 200 plot in his sons name. If look at Khandoker Mosaraf then find koti pound deposit in the Bank of England as well as corruption history in side the country. Aman Ullah Aman owner of 100 apartments in Dhaka city. Just think about name of any leader then can see what a nice bio data. These are the sin of Zia. This man start sin by killing Col Taher who save his life. How it is possible. If we see in the history of world then we can't find any more example like this. A man saves another man's life then but that man killed the man who save his life. AL was in government from 1972 to 1975 and Paki dalals are talking in such a way that before 9 months in 1971 there was no war and nothing happen in this 9 months so when they come in power they fail to do any things. What is the condition of the country in 1972? So in such a situation how that govt will fix every thing where as after 35 years comparatively stable in infrastructure of the country such as better communication as well as stable administrative set four ruler Zia, Ershad, Khalda and Hasina can't fix this country then what **c that govt have and why such kind of abnormal expectation from that govt. During that time foreign loan of the govt only 50 koti taka where as Zia borrow more than 2000 koti taka and saying money is no problem. What the condition of China, Vietnam, USSR or Afganistan after war. Those country can't come in the stable trend with in 10 years than how with in 3 years every thing will fix. 1972 govt face protibiplobi movement from Gonobahini and sorbohara in that crucial period but Zia, Ershad or other never face that things. If this protibiplop didn't up rooted that time then they will capture power like taleban of Afganistan. Most of all lot of peoples have arms along with foods and essential commodity crisis, fragile law and order in that condition people will break the rule and there is no way to instantly change every thing. No ship can't load or unload in the port then what the condition of export and import and how govt will manage international trading and earn money. No income for the govt only $ 50000 in the reserve Bank after 1975 which govt has face such situation ? Western media forecast that more than 10 million people will die but how many million die in that time. Just read the history of China, USSR, Vietnam after liberation and also see what the condition of Afganistan. Independence of India, Pakistan and Bangladesh aren't come in the same way. India Pakistan never face any war. After independence the infrastructure of the country are unchanged. Where as infrastructure of our country are changed due to war when Bangladesh get independence. Bangladesh govt have to face protibiplob from Gonobhahini and Sorbohara but India- Pakistan govt don't have to face this. So bad condition of Bangladesh after liberation is the most logical and reasonable.
The way India and Pakistan become independent in that way Bangladesh doesn't become independent. India - Pakistan's independence could be compared with change of govt in the stable condition by election such as in 1996 when AL comes in power or in 2001 when BNP come back in power etc. In 1996 when AL takes the government role the infrastructure of the country as well as administrative set up of the country totally unchanged and same as 2001 when BNP takes the govt role. In 1947 when India and Pakistan separated from British monarchy then impact of this change look like change of govt by election because infrastructure of the country and administrative set up remain almost identical. Where as when Bangladesh become independent whole scenario been changed due to liberation war which significantly damaged infrastructure of the country. Resource only $50000 in reserve bank in the same way British never destroys all the resources of the country or looted to their country in 1947, communication ne.twork unchanged no interruption there.
